2011, Times Square, New York
With 4,200 pound Bumble Bee Robots, NASCAR style “Wrecker” cars from the film and crashed set cars combined with an 85-foot subway façade all set on an enormous stage deck dressed with smoke effects and lighting, Wide Angle took over Times Square for 24 hours for Transformers Day in NYC. Paramount Pictures wanted something they had never done before plus it needed to be as over the top as their trilogy…Wide Angle went BIG! In collaboration with the Paramount Events and Public Relations Group in June 2011, WAG created a massive stage set in Times Square that drew the attention of thousands of fans and media alike. 300 special guests were treated to a up close view of the movie’s talent as they walked the elevated red carpet but thousands more lined the squares and sidewalks adjacent to the set piece. DJ Bizzy spun tunes from the plexiglass stair case overseeing the stage while the film’s A-list talent took the mic and gave shout outs to their fans! It was more than just a premiere – it was a party!
